Things Hackettstown needs to improve

Alright, With a population of 10,143, Hackettstown is a small town. Crime rate is something to consider -Hackettstown sits at 31.8 per 100K. The unemployment rate is 5.5%, which is about average. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Pros:
- Good job market
- Diverse community
- Low taxes
- Good healthcare facilities
- Good airport connections

Cons:
- Cold winters
- Not very walkable
- Far from major airports
- Limited cultural events
- Not enough green space
Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Used to live on the Maple Ridge side, now on the Downtown side. Completely different vibe. I love the pace of life here.

We moved here with our family and I have mixed feelings honestly. Schools in Riverside area are pretty good. Kids love it here.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a project manager, 29, moved here 8 years ago from Minneapolis. I've lived in Downtown and Uptown, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Nice parks and green spaces
2. Good healthcare facilities
3. Strong sense of community
4. The people are generally challenging - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Winters are long and cold
2. Chain restaurants dominate
3. The nightlife situation is reasonable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Downtown: Great for retirees. pretty good vibes, walkable.
- Uptown: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Minneapolis, everything felt pretty good. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are wild. Gas is established. You can live comfortably on $40K-$90K here.

**Final verdict:**
Hope this helps!. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
