Not sure if this has been asked before, but My family moved here when I was a kid. The median home value here is around $207,700, which is actually reasonable. Rent is about $1,041/month for a decent place. The unemployment rate is 5.2%, which is about average. Crime rate is something to consider -Hagerstown sits at 529.1 per 100K. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. What neighborhoods would you suggest?

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is community vibe. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Worth doing your research before committing.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's exactly what I was looking for. The only thing I'd watch out for is job market. Other than that, It's not for everyone but it works for us..
