Quick question about Hale Center

Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm a remote worker and The unemployment rate is 1.6%, which is pretty low. Household incomes average around $49,083 in Hale Center. Median household income is $49,083, which feels on the lower side for the area. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The weather takes some getting used to. Am I wrong here? The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up.

As someone who grew up here, the quality of life is solid. A lot has changed in the past few years though. pet-friendliness used to be much affordable but now it's decent.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value healthcare, you'll love it. The pet-friendliness is genuinely better than expected and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. My neighborhood (Highland) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from New York, be prepared for the culture shock. job market is completely different here. And Summers can be brutally hot.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want nightlife, then yeah this place is great. But if walkability matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
