Curious what people think. My partner and I are Household incomes average around $69,600 in Halfway. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Anyone in a similar situation? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

My experience has been mostly positive. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The only thing I'd watch out for is weather. Other than that, Feel free to reach out with questions..

Public transit is pretty good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I love the pace of life here.

Bought a house here in 2024 and it was the best decision I ever made. Property values have gone about the same since then.

I've been living here for 8 years and I'd say I have mixed feelings honestly. The healthcare is surprisingly good compared to other places I've lived. Overall No regrets on my end..

Hot take but it's exactly what I was looking for. I know a lot of people disagree but after 12 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Riverside for 3 years. Moved from Baltimore for quality of life. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is better than expected. We bought in 2017 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.
**Employment:**
construction is strong here. education is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are stable for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
it's not perfect but it works for me. The outdoor scene is better than expected - we have national forests within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Riverside schools are tough. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Rising rent and home prices. Road conditions need improvement. And job market can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For couples, I'd say this is a 5/10. Would recommend to anyone considering it.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

I've lived in Riverside for about 6 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Austin, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Good internet infrastructure
- The nightlife scene is solid
The downsides:
- Homeless population growing downtown
- Far from beaches/mountains
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for families. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
