Things Halfway needs to improve

Anyone else feel this way? My family moved here when I was a kid. Median household income is $69,600, which feels about average for the area. The median home value here is around $247,100, which is actually reasonable. Crime rate is something to consider -Halfway sits at 649.8 per 100K. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Worth the trade-offs? The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are better than expected, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
