First time home buyer in Hallandale Beach

Hey, I relocated for work and Crime rate is something to consider -Hallandale Beach sits at 441.7 per 100K. Rent is about $1,580/month for a decent place. The median home value here is around $256,900, which seems about average. The weather takes some getting used to. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Am I wrong here? Property taxes are high but you get good services. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The food scene here is surprisingly good. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

I've lived in Oak Park for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Raleigh, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Decent public transit for the size
- The outdoor recreation scene is average

The downsides:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Limited shopping options

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for singles. Definitely worth checking out..
