Why I chose Hallandale Beach over bigger cities

I grew up here but left for a while. The unemployment rate is 5.7%, which is about average. Household incomes average around $48,518 in Hallandale Beach. Poverty rate is 19.5%, which is higher than I expected. Average temperature is around 76--F, so it's warm year-round. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Pros:
- Affordable cost of living
- Good job market
- Diverse community
- Easy commute

Cons:
- Hot summers
- Sprawl everywhere
- High property taxes
- Boring for young people
What neighborhoods would you suggest? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The food scene here is surprisingly good. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.
