I've been here for 16 years and Median household income is $40,735, which feels on the lower side for the area. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Let me know your thoughts. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Public transit is underrated here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it exceeded my expectations.

Came here for work and stayed because the quality of life is solid. The outdoor recreation is honestly solid and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Cedar Grove for 12 years. Moved from Raleigh for retirement. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is excellent. We bought in 2019 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.

**Employment:**
engineering is strong here. government is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are established for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's been a really good experience overall. The outdoor scene is challenging - we have lakes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Cedar Grove schools are hit or miss. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Not very walkable outside downtown. Homeless population growing downtown. And dating scene can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For singles, I'd say this is a 8/10. Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.

I've been here 6 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the walkability is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is pretty good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Lakewood side vs the Cedar Grove side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Happy to answer more specific questions..
