Alright, I'm a college student here and The median home value here is around $194,600, which is actually reasonable. Rent is about $1,329/month for a decent place. The suburbs are where most families end up. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Does this match your experience? The food scene here is surprisingly good. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want cultural scene, then yeah this place is great. But if cost of living matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I've been living here for 11 years and I'd say I genuinely enjoy living here. The safety is decent compared to other places I've lived. Overall It's not for everyone but it works for us..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Sunset. It's average for what you get.
Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in retail. If you're in engineering you might struggle.
People: Generally pretty good. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.
