What surprised you most about Haltom City?

Just moved here 15 months ago and Average temperature is around 65--F, so the weather is moderate. With a population of 45,681, Haltom City is a smaller city. Rent is about $1,329/month for a decent place. Household incomes average around $56,156 in Haltom City. The suburbs are where most families end up. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Has anyone dealt with this? Any help is appreciated. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The weather takes some getting used to.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Internet is challenging in most areas.
