I'm a remote worker and It's a a small town city with about 16,575 people. With a population of 16,575, Ham Lake is a small town. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The suburbs are where most families end up. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.
