Hey, It's a a small town city with about 4,377 people. Poverty rate is 2.6%, which is pretty low. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Is this normal for Hamburg? I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The weather takes some getting used to. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

I've lived in Old Town for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Dallas, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Decent public transit for the size
- The weather scene is hit or miss
The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Property taxes are high
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for young professionals. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
