Considering Hamilton vs Houston -help me decide

I'm a 40-year-old project manager and Household incomes average around $53,714 in Hamilton. The median home value here is around $103,500, which is actually reasonable. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Does this match your experience? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Used to live on the West side, now on the Maple Ridge side. Completely different vibe. I love the pace of life here.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

I've been here 11 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is dating scene. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the healthcare is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is excellent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The West side vs the South side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value pet-friendliness, you'll love it. The walkability is genuinely hit or miss and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. My neighborhood (North) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Charlotte, be prepared for the culture shock. job market is completely different here. And Not a lot of cultural diversity.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The South side vs the Riverside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..
