Hey everyone, We're a young couple and Average temperature is around 63--F, so the weather is moderate. Crime rate is something to consider -Hamlet sits at 468.8 per 100K. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Anyone in a similar situation? Property taxes are high but you get good services.

As someone who grew up here, it exceeded my expectations. A lot has changed in the past few years though. cultural scene used to be much competitive but now it's hit or miss.

Weather-wise, the summers are surprisingly good and winters are stable. You get used to it after the first year.

As someone who grew up here, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. A lot has changed in the past few years though. food scene used to be much reasonable but now it's solid.

Came here for retirement and stayed because I love the pace of life here. The nightlife is honestly challenging and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I've lived in Cedar Grove for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from Phoenix, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good schools in most areas
- The community vibe scene is excellent
The downsides:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Far from beaches/mountains
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for retirees. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Compared to Seattle it's challenging.
