Alright, Just moved here 10 months ago and You can expect to pay around $882 for rent here. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Would love some local perspective. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Portland and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Fairview. It's improving for what you get.
Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in consulting. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.
People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.
Hope this helps!.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a data analyst who relocated here from Miami about 12 years ago. The main reasons were family and family.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Chain restaurants dominate
Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are competitive, gas is underrated.
Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Good luck with whatever you decide..

We moved here with our family and I have mixed feelings honestly. Schools in Uptown area are average. Kids love it here.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. it's been a really good experience overall. Compared to San Diego it's challenging.
