Hello, I relocated for work and Homes are going for about $141,700 on average. The unemployment rate is 4.2%, which is about average. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Tampa about 4 years ago. The main reasons were weather and quality of life.
Pros I've experienced:
- Four distinct seasons
- Affordable housing options
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are pricey, gas is average.
Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
