What to expect moving to Hammond?

Random thought, Rent is about $1,089/month for a decent place. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Came here for school and stayed because it's not perfect but it works for me. The outdoor recreation is honestly average and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Phoenix and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Pine Hills. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in marketing. If you're in tech you might struggle.

People: Generally improving. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like sushi.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are decent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
