How is Hampton Bays for outdoor activities?

So, I relocated for work and Crime rate is something to consider -Hampton Bays sits at 22.0 per 100K. The suburbs are where most families end up. Should I be concerned?

I've been living here for 4 years and I'd say it's exactly what I was looking for. The community vibe is average compared to other places I've lived. Overall It's not for everyone but it works for us..
