Alright, Average temperature is around 62°F, so the weather is moderate. What would you do?

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it exceeded my expectations. Internet is average in most areas.

Used to live on the Springfield side, now on the Uptown side. Completely different vibe. the quality of life is solid.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Minneapolis about 14 years ago. The main reasons were family and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are manageable, gas is decent.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Hope this helps!.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.

I've been here 8 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the traffic is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is challenging.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The East side vs the Midtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Compared to Tampa it's pretty good.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a contractor who relocated here from Nashville about 7 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Four distinct seasons
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are reasonable, gas is pretty good.

Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Hot take but I love the pace of life here. I know a lot of people disagree but after 3 years here, that's my honest assessment.
