Most overrated things about Hamtramck

Hey, I relocated for work and Average temperature is around 51--F, so expect cold winters. Rent is about $907/month for a decent place. The median home value here is around $116,400, which is actually reasonable. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. What do you all think? Looking forward to hearing from you all. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Bought a house here in 2017 and it was the best decision I ever made. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.

I've been here 9 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is dating scene. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is improving.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Meadowbrook side vs the Greenfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Happy to answer more specific questions..
