Affordable areas near Hanover Park?

Hey everyone, Born and raised here. Average temperature is around 50--F, so expect cold winters. Rent is about $1,478/month for a decent place. The unemployment rate is 3.1%, which is pretty low. Median household income is $92,263, which feels pretty solid for the area. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The city has invested a lot in new development. What do you all think? Looking forward to hearing from you all. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The city has invested a lot in new development. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Public transit is average here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

Bought a house here in 2023 and the quality of life is solid. Property values have gone up a bit since then.
