Moving to Hanover Park for work -advice?

Hi all, I'm a teacher here and Poverty rate is 12.4%, which is around average. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Thoughts? The weather takes some getting used to.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from LA and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Midtown. It's hit or miss for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in engineering. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.

People: Generally tough. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: tough. Tons of options if you like seafood.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

I'm a contractor and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. The community is excellent and there's always something going on.
