Is Hardeeville a good place to live?

So, My family moved here when I was a kid. Rent is about $1,384/month for a decent place. Poverty rate is 5.4%, which is pretty low. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. The food scene here is surprisingly good. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 13 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the housing market is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is surprisingly good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Maple Ridge side vs the Cedar Grove side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Internet is better than expected in most areas.

Weather-wise, the summers are excellent and winters are affordable. You get used to it after the first year.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value nightlife, you'll love it. The weather is genuinely underrated and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. My neighborhood (Westside) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from New York, be prepared for the culture shock. food scene is completely different here. And Not a lot of cultural diversity.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

If you value food scene, you'll love it. The job market is genuinely hit or miss and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. My neighborhood (Downtown) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Minneapolis, be prepared for the culture shock. public transit is completely different here. And Not very walkable outside downtown.

We moved here with our family and it's not perfect but it works for me. Schools in Westside area are average. Kids love it here.
