Hey, I'm a college student here and Poverty rate is 9.3%, which is pretty low. Homes are going for about $269,000 on average. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is walkability. the quality of life is solid. Worth doing your research before committing.

The food scene here is tough. Tons of great Indian places. it's improved dramatically in recent years.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Highland. It's surprisingly good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in marketing. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.
People: Generally average. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: solid. Tons of options if you like craft beer.
