Things Harlan needs to improve

Alright, I'm originally from Portland and Rent is about $516/month for a decent place. The unemployment rate is 6.2%, which is concerning. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The city has invested a lot in new development. Anyone in a similar situation?

I'm a real estate agent and I've found I love the pace of life here. The community is improving and there's always something going on.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a electrician who relocated here from San Francisco about 14 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Good healthcare facilities
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Road conditions need improvement

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are developing, gas is solid.

Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, the quality of life is solid. Good luck with whatever you decide..

I've been living here for 1 years and I'd say it was the best decision I ever made. The public transit is decent compared to other places I've lived. Overall No regrets on my end..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value walkability, you'll love it. The cultural scene is genuinely tough and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. My neighborhood (Cedar Grove) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Denver, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
