Harlingen is underrated, change my mind

Anyone else feel this way? I'm retired and Crime rate is something to consider -Harlingen sits at 416.9 per 100K. Poverty rate is 19.9%, which is higher than I expected. The suburbs are where most families end up. Let me know your thoughts. Any help is appreciated. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

The food scene here is better than expected. Tons of great farm-to-table places. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Definitely worth checking out..
