Relocating to Harlingen, TX -pros and cons?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but With a population of 71,669, Harlingen is a smaller city. It's a a smaller city city with about 71,669 people. Average temperature is around 76--F, so it's warm year-round. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Has anyone dealt with this? The weather takes some getting used to. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Fairview. It's improving for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in construction. If you're in education you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: decent. Tons of options if you like Italian.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Weather-wise, the summers are surprisingly good and winters are pricey. You get used to it after the first year.
