Top 5 things I love about Harrisburg

Alright, I'm retired and It's a a small town city with about 8,608 people. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Would love some local perspective. Cheers.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Westside. It's average for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in engineering you might struggle.

People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

Definitely worth checking out..

Weather-wise, the summers are tough and winters are growing. You get used to it after the first year.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are excellent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
