Couple moving to Harrisburg from out of state

Hey, Born and raised here. Median household income is $143,393, which feels pretty solid for the area. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Would love some local perspective. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Weather-wise, the summers are challenging and winters are reasonable. You get used to it after the first year.

Moved here from Nashville about 7 years ago. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Still getting used to healthcare but Good luck with whatever you decide..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Downtown for 1 years. Moved from Salt Lake City for my partner's job. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is challenging. We bought in 2021 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts.

**Employment:**
retail is strong here. legal is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are manageable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's been a really good experience overall. The outdoor scene is better than expected - we have mountains within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Downtown schools are solid. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Road conditions need improvement. Bugs and humidity in summer. And food scene can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 5/10. Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
