Moving to Harrisburg with kids -good idea?

Hello, Median household income is $143,393, which feels pretty solid for the area. Poverty rate is 3.3%, which is pretty low. Crime rate is something to consider -Harrisburg sits at 113.5 per 100K. Homes are going for about $431,900 on average. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Am I wrong here? It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The suburbs are where most families end up.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Boston and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Meadowbrook. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in government. If you're in engineering you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like Asian.

Hope this helps!.
