Best restaurants in Harrisburg?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm a 43-year-old physical therapist and Crime rate is something to consider -Harrisburg sits at 900.5 per 100K. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

As someone who grew up here, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. A lot has changed in the past few years though. pet-friendliness used to be much competitive but now it's tough.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a contractor who relocated here from Pittsburgh about 4 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Lots of new development happening
- Good internet infrastructure
- Active local events and festivals

Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Limited shopping options

Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are competitive, gas is improving.

Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Definitely worth checking out..

I've lived in Eastside for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Austin, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Lots of new development happening
- The outdoor recreation scene is better than expected

The downsides:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Limited shopping options

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for retirees. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

The food scene here is pretty good. Tons of great Korean places. it's not perfect but it works for me.
