How is Harrisburg for outdoor activities?

Hey everyone, Poverty rate is 27.5%, which is higher than I expected. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

As someone who grew up here, it's been a really good experience overall. A lot has changed in the past few years though. cultural scene used to be much reasonable but now it's improving.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Baltimore and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Downtown. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in retail. If you're in consulting you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like Southern.

Hope this helps!.
