Working remotely from Harrisburg

OK so Homes are going for about $121,000 on average. With a population of 50,092, Harrisburg is a smaller city. You can expect to pay around $996 for rent here. The median home value here is around $121,000, which is actually reasonable. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Would love some local perspective. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Boston about 5 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Four distinct seasons
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are developing, gas is decent.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
