Working remotely from Harrisburg

First post here. Born and raised here. Average temperature is around 52--F, so expect cold winters. Median household income is $47,783, which feels on the lower side for the area. The city has invested a lot in new development. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Would love some local perspective. Any help is appreciated. The city has invested a lot in new development. The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The weather takes some getting used to. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The weather takes some getting used to. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Bought a house here in 2023 and it's improved dramatically in recent years. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's exactly what I was looking for. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Hot take but it's exactly what I was looking for. I know a lot of people disagree but after 7 years here, that's my honest assessment.
