Top 5 things I love about Harrison

Hey everyone, Been living here since 2020. Household incomes average around $153,273 in Harrison. Homes are going for about $1,001,900 on average. The unemployment rate is 3.7%, which is pretty low. Median household income is $153,273, which feels pretty solid for the area. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Pros:
- Great weather
- Low crime in most areas
- Good schools
- Low taxes
- Plenty of shopping options

Cons:
- Limited nightlife
- Not very walkable
- Limited cultural events
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Homelessness issues downtown
Am I wrong here? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

My experience has been mostly positive. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The only thing I'd watch out for is cultural scene. Other than that, Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I've lived in Fairview for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Phoenix, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Four distinct seasons
- The pet-friendliness scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for young professionals. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I'm a writer and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The community is improving and there's always something going on.
