Best industries in Harristown right now

Hi all, My family moved here when I was a kid. It's a a small town city with about 1,526 people. You can expect to pay around $825 for rent here. Median household income is $74,018, which feels about average for the area. Average temperature is around 53--F, so expect cold winters. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Worth the trade-offs? The suburbs are where most families end up. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Minneapolis about 13 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Close to major attractions

Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are stable, gas is improving.

Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. No regrets on my end..
