Best and worst neighborhoods in Hartford
First post here. Been living here since 2014. Homes are going for about $223,400 on average. Crime rate is something to consider -Hartford sits at 87.3 per 100K. Median household income is $95,426, which feels pretty solid for the area. With a population of 3,412, Hartford is a small town. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Has anyone dealt with this? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Property taxes are high but you get good services. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.
