Hartford vs Raleigh -which is better?

Hey, I've been here for 16 years and Household incomes average around $74,252 in Hartford. Rent is about $1,095/month for a decent place. You can expect to pay around $1,095 for rent here. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Does this match your experience? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The weather takes some getting used to. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The weather takes some getting used to. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Public transit is decent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's not perfect but it works for me.

Used to live on the Riverside side, now on the Fairview side. Completely different vibe. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.

I've been here 4 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is walkability. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is solid.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Greenfield side vs the Westside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..
