Relocating to Hartsville, SC -pros and cons?

The unemployment rate is 4.9%, which is about average. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Am I wrong here?

I've been living here for 8 years and I'd say I genuinely enjoy living here. The dating scene is excellent compared to other places I've lived. Overall Good luck with whatever you decide..

Moved here from LA about 5 years ago. I have mixed feelings honestly. Still getting used to walkability but No regrets on my end..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in East for 12 years. Moved from Raleigh for school. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is hit or miss. We bought in 2023 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals.

**Employment:**
hospitality is strong here. healthcare is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are pricey for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's not perfect but it works for me. The outdoor scene is underrated - we have desert landscapes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. East schools are underrated. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Nightlife is limited. Not very walkable outside downtown. And outdoor recreation can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For couples, I'd say this is a 6/10. Good luck with whatever you decide.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
