Couple moving to Harvey from out of state

Curious what people think. Been living here since 2011. The unemployment rate is 7.5%, which is concerning. Crime rate is something to consider -Harvey sits at 1,296.5 per 100K. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Am I wrong here? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

I've lived in Maple Ridge for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from Nashville, I was surprised by weather. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:

- Good healthcare facilities

- Good internet infrastructure

- The walkability scene is improving

The downsides:

- Limited shopping options

- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for singles. Happy to answer more specific questions..
