OK so Average temperature is around 50--F, so expect cold winters. Household incomes average around $64,813 in Harwich Port. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Let me know your thoughts. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The weather takes some getting used to. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value pet-friendliness, you'll love it. The dating scene is genuinely better than expected and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. My neighborhood (Midtown) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Pittsburgh, be prepared for the culture shock. community vibe is completely different here. And Winters are long and cold.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Bought a house here in 2022 and it's not perfect but it works for me. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

Hot take but I have mixed feelings honestly. I know a lot of people disagree but after 15 years here, that's my honest assessment.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are surprisingly good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Used to live on the Midtown side, now on the Old Town side. Completely different vibe. it was the best decision I ever made.

I work in retail here and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The job market for my field is excellent. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Public transit is excellent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

I've lived in Midtown for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Seattle, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good healthcare facilities
- The school system scene is hit or miss
The downsides:
- Limited entertainment options
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for remote workers. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
