Weekend activities in Haslett?

Hello, Poverty rate is 4.6%, which is pretty low. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Compared to Raleigh it's decent.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.

I've been here 14 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the school system is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Uptown side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in South for 9 years. Moved from Nashville for work. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is decent. We bought in 2023 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.

**Employment:**
marketing is strong here. education is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are affordable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
the quality of life is solid. The outdoor scene is decent - we have biking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. South schools are better than expected. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Road conditions need improvement. Limited shopping options. And cost of living can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For young professionals, I'd say this is a 8/10. Would recommend to anyone considering it.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a chef who relocated here from Denver about 13 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Good airport with direct flights
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are developing, gas is solid.

Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Hope this helps!.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's been a really good experience overall. The only thing I'd watch out for is job market. Other than that, Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Public transit is pretty good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

I'm a contractor and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. The community is solid and there's always something going on.
