Hey everyone, Been living here since 2015. It's a a small town city with about 7,515 people. The median home value here is around $159,000, which is actually reasonable. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Thoughts? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The food scene here is surprisingly good. OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Houston and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Meadowbrook. It's average for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in retail. If you're in engineering you might struggle.
People: Generally average. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Southern.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.
I've been here 9 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the food scene is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is tough.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The East side vs the Meadowbrook side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
