We moved here with our family and the quality of life is solid. Schools in West area are improving. Kids love it here.

Weather-wise, the summers are underrated and winters are reasonable. You get used to it after the first year.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a nurse who relocated here from San Diego about 11 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and quality of life.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Decent public transit for the size
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Property taxes are high
Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are manageable, gas is hit or miss.
Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Happy to answer more specific questions..
