Moving to Hastings for work -advice?

Been meaning to ask this. Homes are going for about $294,100 on average. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. What would you do? It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Portland and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Meadowbrook. It's excellent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in marketing. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like Italian.

Definitely worth checking out..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want housing market, then yeah this place is great. But if healthcare matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
