Why I chose Hastings over bigger cities

Longtime lurker here, My family moved here when I was a kid. Household incomes average around $92,940 in Hastings. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Am I wrong here? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Internet is better than expected in most areas.

As someone who grew up here, I love the pace of life here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. school system used to be much wild but now it's surprisingly good.
