Best areas to explore in Hattiesburg?

Hi all, You can expect to pay around $995 for rent here. Crime rate is something to consider -Hattiesburg sits at 230.6 per 100K. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. What do you all think? Any help is appreciated.

I've lived in The Heights for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from Austin, I was surprised by dating scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good healthcare facilities
- The healthcare scene is pretty good

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Nightlife is limited

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for families. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Public transit is improving here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it exceeded my expectations.
