Anyone else feel this way? Crime rate is something to consider -Havana sits at 1,063.5 per 100K. Average temperature is around 53--F, so expect cold winters. - Low taxes

Cons:
- Not very walkable
- Lack of diversity

I've lived in West for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from San Diego, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good internet infrastructure
- The housing market scene is average

The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for couples. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value walkability, you'll love it. The job market is genuinely underrated and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. My neighborhood (Midtown) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Dallas, be prepared for the culture shock. school system is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.

I've been here 9 years and it's not perfect but it works for me. The thing nobody mentions is healthcare. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into running, this place is surprisingly good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Springfield side vs the The Heights side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..
