Best and worst neighborhoods in Haverhill

Hello, I work in automotive and Crime rate is something to consider -Haverhill sits at 524.0 per 100K. The unemployment rate is 4.1%, which is about average. The city has invested a lot in new development. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Worth the trade-offs? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The suburbs are where most families end up. The weather takes some getting used to. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.

I've been here 4 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the school system is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Riverside side vs the Maple Ridge side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..

My experience has been mostly positive. I genuinely enjoy living here. The only thing I'd watch out for is job market. Other than that, Feel free to reach out with questions..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want cultural scene, then yeah this place is great. But if cost of living matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

The food scene here is tough. Tons of great farm-to-table places. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Atlanta and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Fairview. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in construction. If you're in marketing you might struggle.

People: Generally solid. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: tough. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's been a really good experience overall. Internet is average in most areas.
