Weekend activities in Haverhill?

Been meaning to ask this. We're a young couple and You can expect to pay around $1,620 for rent here. The median home value here is around $426,900, which is pretty steep. The unemployment rate is 4.1%, which is about average. Poverty rate is 7.4%, which is pretty low. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Atlanta about 6 years ago. The main reasons were weather and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Lots of new development happening
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Urban sprawl is real

Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are established, gas is average.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. No regrets on my end..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Came here for family and stayed because it exceeded my expectations. The housing market is honestly decent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Atlanta and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Pine Hills. It's hit or miss for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Greenfield for 10 years. Moved from San Francisco for family. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is challenging. We bought in 2016 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable.

**Employment:**
retail is strong here. construction is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are established for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's been a really good experience overall. The outdoor scene is excellent - we have hiking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Greenfield schools are excellent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Winters are long and cold. Homeless population growing downtown. And cultural scene can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For couples, I'd say this is a 7/10. Happy to answer more specific questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in real estate. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.
